LOCATION &
LOGISTICS

Muaisa Hale Pule, on the Kona Coast of the healing island of Hawaii, sits at approximately 1600 ft elevation above the 111-mile marker on Highway 11.  Only 11 miles from Kailua-Kona's big box stores and approximately 35 minutes south of KOA (Kona International Airport), we are surrounded by ranch land and coffee farms just 1.5 miles south of Kealakekua center and 1.5 miles north of Captain Cook. Almost any day, while luxuriating in the warm, moist, Hawaiian air here, you will be serenaded here by a chorus of ambient nature sounds: island songbirds, coqui frogs, free-range chickens, neighboring dogs, ranchers and livestock, or a sudden tropical downpour.

Purified spring water hot tubs, licensed Hawaiian, Swedish and Deep Tissue massage therapists, kayak rentals, and a convenience store are within walking distance.  Cafes, guided tours, several banks, 2 post offices, the public library, a McDonald's restaurant, various antique and thrift shops, the Sunday Farmer's Market, and grocery stores and fruit stands are all within a 2-mile radius.

Three miles down slope (6 miles by car) lies Kealakekua Bay , the State of Hawaii's #1 top marine life conservation area where Captain James Cook first discovered the island in 1778. This is a perfect place to swim, snorkel and kayak; sea turtles and pods of dolphins come here almost daily to rest, feed and nurture their young.

GETTING AROUND

The “HELE-ON BUS” operates a regular schedule of $2 intra-Kona bus routes and $4 R/T once-a-day service to Hilo. The bus can be flagged down at the bottom of our hill (0.35 miles away) or caught at the covered bus stop another .25 miles up the road.  The bus system, however, is designed to service island workers, not tourists.  It tends to run along major arteries rather than scenic routes and does not service our location from either

of the 2 island airports at times conducive to most people’s itineraries.

If you are planning to see the island -- and there is a lot to see; they don't call this the "Big Island" for nothing -- you will want to consider renting a car for at least a portion of your stay.  For transportation from KOA to our area, it is advisable to arrange for a taxi, SPEEDI SHUTTLE or rental car for pickup at the airport.  (A list of phone numbers is available upon request.) As soon as we confirm your reservation, and you notify us of your flight details, we will email you driving directions from whichever side of the island you specify. Later, Shaman 'Golden Feather' will be available to greet you at Muaisa Hale Pule when you arrive on property.

19.5 DEGREES LATITUDE

What makes our location most spectacular is the fact that we sit directly atop the 19.5 degrees North parallel on one of Earth's 10 major vortices. Information about this dynamic energy vortex -- and about the ancient civilization of Lemuria -- is accessible by clicking HERE, or by accessing the "location" tab and drop-down menu at the top of the page.
